Welcome to Gordonsville, VA!
Historic Gordonsville is located near Charlottesville, RIchmond and Orange, Virginia in the middle of wine country along the foothills of the Piedmont, and is (among others) home to the Historic Exchange Hotel Museum.
Gordonsville grew up around a tavern established by Nathaniel Gordon in 1794, where the circle is today. After the railroad arrived in 1840, development began around the rail depot at the other end of town. By the 1850s they were filling in the gap, which became Main Street Gordonsville.
ITINERARY
Today's restored Main Street Gordonsville is the brain child of an ambitious French Patron and hosts a unique collab of locally owned artisan businesses, a private spa, galleries, restaurants and antique shops. Our food ranges from German style baked goods and amazing French cuisine to some of the best BBQ in Virginia, as well as the local favorites like the Well Hung Vineyard Tasting Room, Champion Ice House Brewery and PATCH Brewery. Gordonsville offers historic stays at The Nathaniel Inn and the Main Street Air B&B as well as area favorites like Bell Haven Cottage and Villa Rosa. Surrounding vineyards like Barboursville, Honah Lee and Horton Vineyards, and attractions like The Market at Grelen and Historic Montpelier offer a daycation's worth of activities to explore!
Welcome to Gordonsville, we hope you enjoy your visit!
